New Year, New WHO?

The New Year is upon us, but that does not mean we should be throwing away our old selves and trying to replace them with someone new. Our experiences are not so disposable, in fact, it is our experiences that help us to shape our personalities and values. The idea that we should get rid such an important part of ourselves is just a sales tactic to convince you that you should be buying a “New you” every year. Instead of a clean slate, you have a lifetime of knowledge to help you make this year the best it can be, let’s not throw it all away!

So what should we focus on releasing in the new year?

Here are some ideas:

  • What has been standing between you and your biggest goal?

  • Do you feel like you limit your own progress? Do you know why?

  • Are you supporting relationships that feel one-sided?

  • Are you trapped in cycles of behavior because you feel obligated to behave how you always have?

Grab your journal, your notes app, or even a voice recorder and explore these prompts. Can you take any concrete action to release yourself from these burdens?
